Traffic alert: Lower Spokane St. detour at night this week

If you will be using lower Spokane Street 7 pm-5 am for any or all of the next five nights, note that the westbound traffic will be detoured into the currently closed eastbound lanes between 1st and 2nd (map) because of utility work related to the ongoing construction project. Police will direct traffic. SDOT adds, “Eastbound local access between 1st and 2nd will continue to be provided as needed.”

Any news how this will affect bus routes? The 56 runs along this, as do many WS busses.

Shouldn’t affect any of the bus runs – this is mainly for folks located east as far as Airport Way who are heading west – to West Seattle -along the surface Spokane Street. This indicates that westbound surface Spokane Street is open but there is a detour in the middle of the route. Good news for those who have business along Airport, 4th or 6th Avenues but otherwise of no import to most others. Eastbound Spokane Street *surface* remains closed for at least another year.

Sorry, comment time is over.
