The I-5 and 1st Avenue South projects both have updates – we’ve mentioned them before but these are the very latest status checks forwarded by SDOT:

I-5 Spokane Street Illumination: Crews are removing and replacing the lighting and signing at the I-5/Spokane St interchange. This week through Friday, March 27, there will be nighttime closures and lane reductions on the Spokane and Columbian Way on-ramps and nighttime lane closures to 1-5 at S Spokane St. More info here.

1st Ave S Paving: One lane open in each direction between S Stacy and S Hanford, with two lanes allowed in the northbound direction Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. as crews continue to install a new water main in the center of the roadway. Parking is generally not allowed on either side of the street in the work zone. Traffic and parking restrictions between S Stacy and S Horton will continue until project is completed in September.
