SATURDAY MORNING: The Friends of Lincoln Park invite you to join us at our monthly work party on Saturday, 2-7-09 from 9am to noon. We will be working hard, removing invasive plants from the forested areas of the park. SATURDAY MORNING-AFTERNOON: The YWCA Women’s Health Outreach Program and West Seattle Community Clinic will conduct a mobile mammography screening for uninsured, income-eligible women age 40 and older. Screenings will be scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at West Seattle Community Clinic, 9001 35th Ave. SW in Seattle. Women with insurance also are welcome. SUNDAY MORNING: The World Premiere of the Magnificat by Bob Ingalls has been rescheduled to be performed during the 11:15 AM Mass at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in West Seattle. The original performance on Dec 21, 2008 was canceled due to the snowstorm. This unaccompanied choral work for Men’s Choir, Women’s choir and soloists will feature members of both the Holy Rosary 11:15 AM Choir and the St Madeleine Sophie Sanctuary Choir (Bellevue). The featured soloists are Anne Quinn, soprano, Barbara Erickson, soprano and Tom Reis, tenor: all members of the Holy Rosary 11:15 AM Choir. Bob Ingalls, a graduate of both the Juilliard School of Music in NYC and the Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY, is a longstanding Seattle resident. He performed for many years as an orchestra member with the Seattle Symphony, the Seattle Opera, and the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra. His compositions are well known in choir circles in the Seattle area.
