Update: West Seattle Bridge light replacement under way

Your drive home tonight should be brighter: As promised yesterday morning, Seattle City Light crews are indeed out on The Bridge replacing all those burned-out bulbs – we’ve had two reports of sightings, one via e-mail, one via Twitter.

I think I might need my sunglasses now… Headed to north seattle via the bridge, so it will be interesting to see how many have been done.

For what it’s worth, I noticed that there are still a bunch of unlit lights on the bridge this evening. It’s better though….

There were a lot of lights still out around 7:00 pm this evening, especially on the south side of the bridge. I wonder if they’ll be fixed by tomorrow morning.

Nope still a bunch out on my way in to work this morning. Drove the bridge about 7:20 am.

Still a lot of lights out this morning at 5:30…maybe they were removing bulbs but not replacing them. Geez.

On Tuesday night, I stopped counting after 99 burned-out lights. I’m sure there were more…

To all commenting that not all of the lights were replaced: would you like to be up on a light pole on a bridge after dark? Seems pretty clear that the intent is to replace all of the lights, and that they stopped work for the day at dusk. Hold off on the complaints for now :-)

Also please note our most recent post atop the page. The crews ARE indeed out there now – we are downtown for a meeting and not only saw the striping crew, also saw the City Light crews at work (check our photo) on the westbound side.

Sorry, comment time is over.
