Here are a few things we just didn’t get to – more video from the Coast Guard tall-ship arrival (including a chopper flyby), baby announcement, new sign:
First, two clips from our midafternoon stakeout at Duwamish Head watching for the Coast Guard tall ship Eagle to arrive – first came this Coast Guard double flyby:
The ship unfortunately didn’t have its sails up. But a zoom view revealed a rather stately sight just the same:
Now, the baby announcement. This has probably been up on the window at Forsythe Studio in The Junction for a while, given the date; we just noticed it today:
What makes this particularly noteworthy is the proud mom, shown here with her newborn son in the photo that’s up inside the salon too:
That’s Dez, who you met in a video clip here on WSB back in April, when she was looking for her missing Boston Terrier “Daisy” and put up what seemed like hundreds of flyers around West Seattle. Unfortunately, the Forsythe folks tell us, “Daisy” is still missing (photo’s still up on our Pets page, too) … but we wanted to congratulate Dez.
Last and considering the preceding, least, a sign change at the former Exxon station at California/Andover … on our way to what turned out to be the biggest story of the day, we spotted the new permanent sign ready to go up:
This comes three months after temporary banners went up covering the old Exxon signage (WSB report here).
