We took that photo in The Junction this morning, then checked to see what the signs were for — a little sealing work tonight, we were told, no big deal. Well, now the city has issued an advisory because the work’s been pushed back, so if you’re planning on Junction nightlife late tomorrow night, you should be forewarned – read on:

SDOT Contractor to Apply Seal Coat to Portions of Asphalt Street Surface on California Avenue SW

Friday evening, June 27th, Merlino Construction Company will apply a seal coat over portions of the existing asphalt street surface on California Avenue SW between SW Genesee Street and SW Edmunds Street. THIS IS A REVISED DATE. The work was originally scheduled for this Thursday evening. This work is intended to protect the asphalt surface that was installed as part of the repaving project in 2006 and 2007.

• The work hours will be 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction during this nighttime work.
• Parking will not be permitted in the vicinity of the work area.
• “No parking” signs will be erected in advance of the work – however, they are not enforceable until the time specified
