West Seattle scenes, Monday night edition

Above, from WSB contributing photojournalist Matt Durham: Elijah Hajduk (age 5) and his dad Jonathan are towed by their dog Momo on a custom longboard at Alki. Below: Mac caught the fireboat Chief Seattle doing maneuvers off Salty’s:

And here’s a pic sent by “X,” who happened onto it while out geocaching on Alki with his wife:

“X” elaborates further: “On our walk back home along Alki, we heard a motorcycle rev up and then make a crazy sound. A poor lad had the misfortune of loosing control of his prized possession. We watched the bike slam under a truck. The driver flopped, bounced and slid. When we ran over to check on him, we were relieved to find him without any serious injuries, however, his motorcycle didn’t look so good.”

    RE: Motorcycle Accident
Glad that no one was hurt but… Note the large puddle of oil spilled beside the bike. Was there any environmental call-out or follow up? I hope it didn’t make it to the storm drains.

I dunno…morons that ride their bikes like this SHOULD get themselves hurt. Sounds like he was showing off. Ugh.

Not just the *way* he was riding- that is (was) a Suzuki Hayabusa. Way over-sized for street riding, nearly 1400 ccs. It’s a good thing the rider wasn’t hurt. But this gives responsible street riders a bad name. Why would you need a bike that big and fast for riding around town?

    What is geocaching?

Geocaching is a treasure hunting game where you use a GPS to hide and seek containers with other participants.

AHAHAHAHA to you Mike! That was awesome! :D

as for the Hayabusa, interesting side note- that is what Ben Roethlisberger was riding with no helmet when he crashed a few years back. Obviously a bike for people with more $$ than brains….

JenV, I believe in the Ben R. case a car hit him, I could be wrong. Also I have plenty of friends who ride these types of bikes and other bikes and they have brains

perhaps the car did hit him, barmargia- but he still made the decision to stupidly ride w/out a helmet. My brother rides, my dad rides, my friends ride- I have nothing against motorcycles. I do, however, hate Ben Roethlisberger… :) …and think people who ride like idiots ARE idiots. I am sure your friends have brains and keep them protected under a helmet and by riding responsibly. Cheers!!
