Lots of WS worries lately – from Westwood vandalism to Gatewood burglaries to break-ins further north. If you have neighborhood crime concerns, you are invited to voice them tonight at the West Seattle Community Safety Partnership meeting, 7 pm @ the SW Precinct. On a related subject, a WSB reader e-mailed us asking for help with a hit-and-run that crunched his car; click ahead to read his note:
Sunday the 10th at roughly 3:30 PM at the corner of 36th ave sw and cloverdale street an Atlas Van Lines 18 wheeler got itself stuck trying to go north on 36th ave sw. In its efforts to get itself backed out and turned around it ran into Our 2003 Chevy suburban. (no note of course).
Our next door neighbors watched the truck going thru its maneuvers but did not notice any other information other than “Atlas Van Lines” on the truck. I have contacted the national and local Atlas companies and they cant determine if a truck was dispatched in West Seattle on a Sunday. (yah right). I am looking for any additional information in regards to the truck, someone in the area that was moving in or out on that Sunday. A truck number, license number, local trucking company name in addition to the Atlas info.
