The Weekly decided to check back on Beato after (almost) six months.

Our experience of Beato was – very delicious, very pricey nibbles – a bread basket containing exactly 5 paper thin slices of bread for five people – we went in hungry and came out still hungry. For those prices I would have expected something more….

Boy, all these reviews do not make me want to check this place out… More pricey ‘nibbles’ for the rest of you, I guess.

I love overpriced drinks at Talarico’s($7 for a Grey Goose/Cranberry) and overpriced food at Beato’s. No riff raff..

    Except for you Jiggers:)

I have a hard time feeling “blessed” with this restaurant. The food is so-so, is way to pricey for a “neighborhood” restaurant, and service is uneven. But the article also indicates that Beato caters to West Seattle’s increasingly high-end class of neighbors. I’ve been here too long to belong to that group. I would also bet that if Beato’s came under threat of being replaced by Petco, you wouldn’t see demonstrations or fights to stop it.

Sorry about the double entry – apparently I hit the submit twice.

Say what you want, but I live around the corner from Beato and it’s almost ALWAYS packed with people…even with the repaving work going on. The pasta dishes that I’ve tried have been fantastic and the wine selection is too. It’s pricey but the experience, in my opinion, has been well worth it.

My wife and I have been there once. It was fantastic. Service. Food. Everything. I hope when we return we will have the same sort of experience.

I want to eat, not spend money and leave hungry…

I totally agree Beato was not that good and it is too bad…the food was lackluster and the service spotty as has been reported. I won’t go back after 2 tries…too many other great places in the area.

We went last week for the first time and I have to say it was our server who made the evening extra special. Perhaps we had the same woman as the author of the review. We loved our evening. It is pricey. Very pricey. The food was outstanding and the service stellar. I can see both sides of the argument on this one.

We thought it was too spendy for nothing special, preferred O2.

Sorry, comment time is over.
