funkietooParticipantHotwire Online Coffeehouse and Clementine Shoes are accepting cash donations for the Nickelsville ‘Dry Feet Fund’. Monetary donations will be used to purchase rubber boots and warm socks for the residents.
Hotwire is also accepting the following through the weekend:
1. Outerwear, boots, gloves, hats, warm socks
2. Pet Supplies; Dry cat food and litter are especially needed. They have plenty of healthy dog food.
—Some medium priced, good quality food brands are: Costco Kirkland, Dark Purple Bag; Felidade; Nutro; Natural Balance. We try to avoid brands such as Friskies, Whiskas, Atta Cat, Etc.
—Kitty Litter. Clumping is popular however, the 40 lb bags of wood pellets (available at McLendon’s or Home Depot) work very, very well and are only about $4 -$6 per bag.

Even though it’s a little trickier to get into the parking lot on the west side, it’s safer in the long run, because you can safely get out of your car, and not have all of the semis and other vehicles whizzing by you, as would happen if you parked on the shoulder of the “highway”, at the north entrance.
About the only benefit of the north entrance, is it’s where the main Security Desk is at, which is always staffed.
AFAIK, the west side is still usually staffed, but may not be so on random occasions.
If the west is not staffed, and/or you need a lot of muscle to help unload, the Camp cell number is : 206-450-5268.

inactiveMemberThe following caring additional businesses are taking collections without any hesitation to help Nicklesville.
The boxes at each location will be in place TFN to see if we can gather items – especially socks and gloves – to stockpile. These items get wet most frequently, but if you have useable batteries, tarps, blankets, jackets, toss them in. Please say thanks when you go in to drop off those unused but usable socks, gloves and hats to:

WSB, it would be slammin’ if you could post this on home page. I think it is extraordinary that these businesses, some of whom serve street people and Nickleodeans as customers, are reaching out to our larger community to help. I salute them all.
