VIDEO: Winning night @ Seattle Lutheran, including tribute to Coach Carlson

10:57 PM: Both varsity teams won tonight at Seattle Lutheran, including the girls’ team with a special incentive:

As reported here earlier, this was the last scheduled home game in the last of 35 seasons for Coach Bruce Carlson. A special photo included alums of his teams:

We’ll have video of the tribute and more photos later. As for the game itself, the girls beat Crosspoint, 46-22.

The SLHS boys also went home with a win over Crosspoint, 64-43.

Here’s what Coach Carlson told the gym full of friends, fans, and family:

His team ran up a big lead in the first half and that helped them stay on the road to victory despite some shooting trouble in the second half.

The third quarter was the decisive period, with Lutheran going on a 23-point run from which Crosspoint never recovered. After leading scorer Meyer (mentioned above), #3 Isaiah Dowding-Albrecht was second with 11:

Next up for the SLHS teams, as the regular season winds down – they play on the road at Evergreen Lutheran in Tacoma on Friday.

    Great job, Bruce!  And to all the outstanding female athletes. Sorry we missed the game but so happy we made it to last Friday’s game!!!

    Congratulations Bruce, I often think of the times when Tracy played for you.  You leave quite a legacy of coaching behind.
