A way to show your WS pride

Every so often, somebody asks where to find an I (HEART) WEST SEATTLE bumper sticker. bumper.jpgWe kept thinking maybe we’d get into the bumper-sticker business, but other priorities kept getting in the way. Luckily, WSB reader Tom just posted last night (the 9:48 pm comment below this post) that he’s set some up through the online store CafePress.com. Here’s the link to the sticker Tom is selling. Design shown at right (image grab from CafePress.com); just says I (HEART) WEST SEATTLE, no other logo or business name, $2.99 plus 75 cents shipping/handling. We don’t know Tom personally and aren’t affiliated with this but nonetheless we say bravo.

How about “I HATE WEST SEATTLE, there’s just too much damn bridge traffic to get out!” :)

There’s also a link to some W. Seattle t-shirts on westseattle.com and on the West Seattle Herald’s website. The former are a bit nicer.

    Well Ron…MOVE!

Wow thanks for the bump WSB!

    A couple ‘o notes:

First, I did not mark these up and make NO MONEY from these. I made it for myself and just thought I’d share the love.

Second, for folks who want “I Hate WS” or “snazzier” stickers- Rock on people! Embrace the DIY ethic! Personally I would love to witness a West Seattle-wide bumper sticker competition!!!

Sorry Tom, I didn’t mean to say the West Seattle Herald’s stuff was nicer then yours. I meant that they were nicer than the one’s on westseattle.com

Lol! No offense taken NATINSTL. I would seriously love to see competing sticker messages. Imagine:

    “Upper Alki Kicks Ass!”

“Where the Hell Is West Seattle? signed White Center”

“Ask Me About East West Seattle”

    “West Seattle Secession NOW!”

    OK, Tom,
West Seattle Secession NOW! is the best, especially if you know the story about the agonizing over joining the city a century ago.
My gripe is that I so want to display the seagull & Alki transparent sticker, but the white is not white enough and the whole thing is too big and from experience, fades too quickly.
At the risk of alienating too many, I was born in San Diego, single with no family other than the local famiy I’ve acquired here, retired from the military and settled here. The “OB”(Ocean Beach)sticker on my 15 year old ride has stayed bright all this time. Small and longer lasting is better than big, flashy and too quick to fade :-O. Could someone please come up with something for those of us who like a smaller and more sun-resistant footprint on our rear (windows)?
Go Alki and West Seattle (Upper, Lower, East, West, North and South!)

    Ron Burgundy,
I was acquainted with your real life inspiration in San Diego in the mid-70’s. His name was Harold Green. Looked the same as the movie version, though. If you knew what a horse’s patoot and flash in the pan he was in real life, you wouldn’t use that handle. Heraldo (sp?) Rivera is of the same ilk, but for some incomprehensible reason and to our dismay, he lives on.

    But, hey. Post on!

Sorry, comment time is over.
