West Seattle Crime Watch: At least “they closed the door”

From a resident who wanted to be anonymous, word of a burglary today:

My house was broken into 11/4/09 between the hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm. Burglar broke window on side of house through the alley. Took coins in jar and rummaged through closets and jewelry. Fortunately when they left, they closed the door, thus keeping my 2 beloved cats safe in the house. House is located on Genesee between 44th and 45th [map].

Thanks for letting us know where it happened. I know this area has been getting hit hard so I am keeping my eyes peeled and reporting anybody suspicious.

What else has happened in this area? I live right around the corner from this latest location and am very disturbed to read about something so close!

Same thing happened to us in Sept. She even put the screen back in the window. Saved my cat, for that I was so greatful. And didn’t make a mess either. Actually closed all the drawers. Only took some jewelry, picked and chose what she wanted. Also, she and I have very different tastes, so I got the stuff I liked best. But no one should take anyones wedding ring!

littlerae – interesting that you refer to the burglar as “she” – that’s not very common – both the reference to a female burglar or an actual chick rummaging through your drawers. Not very common indeed.

my neighbor also had a break-in on 44th. between Charlestown and Andover in broad daylight, on Friday, November 6th, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The back door was kicked in…among the items was a Laptop computer, an electric guitar, and misc. electronics, and a large container of loose change. They used the owner’s pillow cases to carry the items. If anyone saw someone(s) carrying a guitar without a case and pillow cases, please report it. Thanks.

Sorry, comment time is over.
