West Seattle Crime Watch: License-plate theft

Quick Crime Watch note tonight – Paul reports someone stole his license plates overnight near 39th and Dakota: Washington plates B45069N. So if you happen to see a plate lying around in your neighborhood, take a closer look (and tell police if you find one, even if it’s not Paul’s).

In order to report a stolen license plate to the police you have to go in-person. It can not be reported online.

One of my plates was stolen this summer, but I didn’t know when or where it happened. It was pretty straight forward to get new plates with the license bureau, but had to fill out a form (available on their website) and get it notarized in order to do so.
I wanted to report it to the police, but the WS precinct hours for something like this were m-f business hours when I’m at work, so I ended up not reporting it. The gal at the license bureau told me if they ran they old plate it would come up as stolen, of course.

Sorry, comment time is over.
