West Seattle beachwalking alert! Very low tides ahead next four days

(June 2017 tide, out past minus three feet, looking north from Emma Schmitz Memorial Overlook)

The next four days bring a bonus for beachwalkers: Low-low tides of minus 3 feet or lower:

Wednesday, 11:11 am: -3.0
Thursday, 11:55 am: -3.5
Friday, 12:42 pm: -3.7
Saturday, 1:30 pm: -3.4

Here’s our favorite chart. You can also check tides any time on the WSB Weather page.

P.S. Seattle Aquarium volunteer beach naturalists will be out too – here’s the schedule.

Animal control was on the beach today @1pm. Was happy to see them giving a ticket to a couple with an off leash dog on the beach.

Please remember to be careful and courteous when you are on the beach…watch where you step, don’t move animals from one place to another, and if you turn over a rock to see what’s hiding underneath be sure you replace it gently. Our beaches get a lot of traffic and Beach Naturalists can’t be everywhere at once, but with a little consideration the cool critters there will remain for all to enjoy.

I’m not sure I know what the Aquarium website means by South Alki – do you know where we should go to find their naturalists? Near Constellation Park?

yes, sorry if I didn’t call it out specifically as we do in all other references, near the 63rd/Beach Drive end of Constellation Park.

Sorry, comment time is over.
