West Seattle traffic alert: Junction crash, 1 hurt

2:07 PM: We’re in The Junction, where we happened onto a crash scene at California and Alaska, tying up the outside lane on northbound California at Alaska. The police response is more sizable than you might expect from a not-major rear-ender, because there’s a possibility, police tell us, that one of the cars was involved in an earlier crash. One man was hurt and was put into a private ambulance, but didn’t appear to have major injuries.

2:21 PM: The scene is mostly clear now, except for police and one of the vehicles.

  1. what hit the truck on the roof to knock out the window and dent the top? I hope it wasn’t a person!

  2. May be off topic but I wish there was something the police could do to stop people from turning left onto Alaksa from north and southbound California Ave! It’s only allowed after a certain time but I see people doing it every day during the illegal hours. A couple of years ago a motorcyclist was hit by a clueless left turner. Of course, I’ve filled out online forms to request enforcement but have never seen enforcement in the last 3 years or so.

    I hope the person injured is going to be ok.

    There are a heckuva lot of areas that need traffic enforcement. All over the city, county, and state.

  4. Apparently the driver had hit 3 cars earlier that day and was very drunk. He was escorted by ambulance to to intoxication.
