August 24, 2012 at 12:59 pm | In West Seattle housing, West Seattle news | 4 Comments
If you have been thinking and/or dreaming of remodeling, you might as well take local experts up on their offer of free advice, no obligation. Award-winning Ventana Construction (longtime WSB sponsor) is hosting another free workshop at its West Seattle headquarters tomorrow (northeast corner of California and Findlay) and you’re invited – noon to 1 pm, with information about custom building too. Here’s the Facebook page for the event; just call 206-932-3009 ASAP to RSVP. (P.S. If your potential remodeling zone is the basement, check out what Ventana co-owner Anne Higuera shared with houzz.com.)

Is it possible to love your Contractors? If so, then I LOVE Anne and Clarence.
Many of you may remember that I had a house fire in January. Repairs are finally going to start in September (my insurance has been dragging their feet), and the two of them have there since the beginning. This has not been an easy experience and when I have needed someone to prop me up, they have done so.
They are talented, smart, honest, experienced Contractors with a heart. The evening of my fire they contacted a good friend to let him know how sorry they were about the fire (and my cat) and that if I needed help protecting/shoring up my house, they would be there—as a courtesy. Clarence and his workers were kind spoken and thoughtful towards me, working into the evening to secure my home. Never once during this time did they ask about repairing my home/submitting a quote, (unlike the vultures that were circling my home that day, looking to ‘speak’ to me and leaving literature on my door).
Little did Anne and Clarence know that I had already thought about contacting them to repair my home due to their reputation and skill in restoring Craftsman houses. Their actions that day cemented my choice on the spot.
So, Anne and Clarence, I love you both!

Teri, you are so kind. We adore you too and can’t wait to get started restoring your home next month.
Also a workshop update: we are FULL for today’s event as of 10am. Please contact us if you are interested in the next one, which is still to be scheduled.

I just attended this and it was so incredibly helpful. If anyone out there is thinking about going, sign up for the next one – Anne and her architect co-presenter were honest, helpful, & knowledgeable. I had no idea where to start but now I do!
