Two reports in the past day and a half, both ahead:

From Ellen this morning:

Just saw a coyote run past the house. We live on Parshall Place off Frontenac near California Ave. After passing the house it ran up the wooded area next to the house toward 41st. A very healthy-looking animal.

And via e-mail Friday night, this cheery report:

Hey there! This is @TheUkeShaman reporting a coyote sighting near Avalon Way at 35th near the West Seattle Stadium. He appeared to be finding the best path through the neighborhood and seemed healthy! :D First time seeing a coyote out here!

We’ve had some others recently from that area – you can scroll through our coyote-sighting archive (reverse-chronological, and some with photos) by going here.

Meantime, the latest coyote news from other parts of the country: In Rome, Georgia, they’re suspected to be a factor in the shrinking of a local deer herd; in Tazewell, Virginia, people can get $50 if they kill a coyote – and there’s concern that bounty is becoming too popular.
