Renovated Delridge Playfield opening; celebration set

(Photo added 1:51 pm)
The fence is finally coming down at Delridge Playfield, which has brand-new turf as the result of a multi-million-dollar renovation project. Seattle Parks confirms that the fencing should all be down by tomorrow. They have also set the date for a community celebration, according to Parks’ Karen O’Connor: Saturday, March 12, 12:30 pm-2:30 pm (north field).

Drove by yesterday and it looks so good! I know what playing soccer was like on the old pitch. This is a really wonderful provement. The skatepark is the icing on the cake!

Well done and thank you everybody.

It’s pretty amazing how SLOWLY they’ve finished up this project. Every time the project manager puts out a prediction, I’ve learned to double it. Yesterday they removed a tiny portion of the fence. Today I can’t tell if they did anything. Tomorrow they’ll remove the rest? I’m thrilled that the field is there and will be open soon…but it really has been fascinating to watch.

It’s so pretty!! It’s so refreshing to see that in these dreary economic times!! I hope my daughter gets to play there!

Sorry, comment time is over.
