Tomorrow is the first full day of business for Giannoni’s Pizza, on the south side of Westwood Village (between Sally’s Beauty Supply and the future Taco Del Mar), after a soft launch for lunch today:

The Giannoni’s proprietors tell WSB the restaurant opened for 4 hours at lunchtime today for 4 hours and served more than 140 slices. Starting tomorrow, they plan to be open 11 am-10 pm daily.

  1. Just returned from getting a slice there for lunch. I got a plain slice for the first visit.

Overall it’s quite good: the crust is thin and crispy (not doughy), the sauce is fresh, and there’s a good amount of cheese. I like a tangier and saltier sauce, but I’ll definitely be eating there again. A plain slice is only $2 as well! Next time I’ll try one of the specialty pizzas.

They have a cool mural on the wall too. Try it for yourself so we can keep it going.

  2. Went there for dinner with the 1-year-old. She pronounced it “nyummy-nyummy-nyum!” and proceeded to steal all the black olives off the slice. Quick, reasonably priced, $3.50 to $3.75 for a slice with up to 5 toppings, depending on the toppings picked. We’ll be going back.

  3. Just got a large pizza (Margarita sp?). It was great and fairly inexpensive! Also spoke with the owners and they seemed like nice folks! I wish them best of luck!

  5. Worst ever. Went there last night. 14 year old behind the counter had NO idea what was going on, what they had in stock, and argued with me when she tried to overcharge me $20 for a small pizza and salad. Totally rude. Had no idea even what to charge. I asked for Margherita pizza with extra tomotoes, and was charged extra for them. Got plain cheese pizza in the end that was gross, and older lady argued with me in front of customers that I was in the wrong. Also, they were out of chicken! Will never ever return there again.
