JenVMemberPutting the feelers out there – would everyone be interested in another meet up? I was thinking West Seattle Bowl would be a fun place to meet and that way the younger members and people with kids could come too. Plus, West Seattle Bowl is just generally a great place to be! I could show off my skills- skills that get me beat by my 4 1/2 year old niece on a regular basis…
The West Seattle Bowl has a full bar, a Chinese restaurant and also accepts pizza delivery. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon! October 5th and 12th are the best dates. Weigh in with your opinion and let me know – I can get it set up with the alley as soon as I have a general headcount.
Cheers!

CaitParticipantThat would be great! I’d love to!

keleesoMemberSounds lovely! I would probably watch the bowling instead of subjecting myself to lawsuits stemming from people getting hurt because they are laughing so hard at me that they get hurt.

GenHillOneParticipantEither day would be fun – and remember two things…1) it’s a known fact that the more beer you drink, the better you bowl and 2) WSB (doh! WSB@WSB!) has bumpers :)

RSMemberI’m in!! Either day works for me and my dude. Can we dress as our favorite Big Lebowski character??
Thanks for getting the ball rolling! (bowling jokes never get old right?)
September 19, 2008 at 6:08 pm #639846
megMemberOooooh! Sounds fun!
September 19, 2008 at 6:10 pm #639847
JenVMemberRS, that rug really tied the room together…
September 19, 2008 at 6:14 pm #639848
miwsParticipantI should be able to make either day. But, I’ll likely join JoB in heckling.
I would normally claim poor bowling skills for backing out of throwing some gutter balls, but now I have the excuse of recouping physically from my hospital stay. ;)
Tomorrow, I plan to venture out on a bus ride to the Junction for the car show. Should be good for building up my stamina!

ellenaterMemberCount us in for either day!
September 19, 2008 at 7:00 pm #639850
In2theknightMemberOk, any group of ppl that know lines from The Big Lebowski…count me in! Don’t bother asking Walter ’cause he doesn’t roll on Shabbos!
September 19, 2008 at 7:01 pm #639851
RSMemberI think I’ll dress up as a nihilist because then when I bowl reeeally badly I can say it’s because I believe in nothing. Also works if someone tries to draw me into a political discussion. :)
I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, at least it’s an ethos.
September 19, 2008 at 7:04 pm #639852
SueParticipantI can’t do the 12th, but I can do the 5th. I also won’t be bowling, but would love to hang out.
September 19, 2008 at 7:34 pm #639853
WSBKeymasterMike, alert – the car show is Sunday.
Hope you can make it then! We’re one of the co-sponsors. Gonna be a blast – TR
September 19, 2008 at 7:40 pm #639854
JanSParticipantI’m also one of those who will be in the heckling section…that, and having a few beers, and fries cooked in the egg roll oil – yummmmm…
My Sunday’s are mostly free in October :)
September 19, 2008 at 8:15 pm #639855
miwsParticipantThanks TR! I totally spaced out on which day it was! Gives me a day to recoup from my “physical therapy” this morning of making three trips down and back to the laundry room. Four flights of about seven steps each between landings, the final trip managing a bag of clean laundry and the (collapsed) walker. I could have asked for help, but am trying to do whatever I can for myself, as long as it doesn’t put me in danger of fall or overdoing it considering my current status.
I also appreciated the heads up (again, missed that it is on Sunday) on the main Blog. I figured I’d still be in rehab at Riverton until after the show, and had put it out of my mind.
See you there!
We now return you to the actual topic. ;)

miwsParticipantAw, c’mon Jan!
Quit talking about the stuff I like that would be highly illegal on my new diet! ;)

ErikParticipantNow I can’t get ‘Dead Flowers’ from Townes Van Zandt outta my mind.
Any chance to throw a heavy rolling object at passive objects….I’m there!
September 19, 2008 at 9:15 pm #639858
JenVMembersweet! it sounds like we have a lot of interest. I have an email out to the bowling alley to see how they can best accommodate us. I think I might just have to buy some new bowling shoes for the occasion!
September 19, 2008 at 9:16 pm #639859
GenHillOneParticipantJenV – shotgun!
September 19, 2008 at 9:18 pm #639860
ellenaterMemberI will be attempting some Bill Murray hair for the occasion.
September 19, 2008 at 11:02 pm #639861
celeste17ParticipantIf we do the 12th count me in. The 5th is my brothers birthday.
September 20, 2008 at 5:04 pm #639862
carrieannMemberSounds like fun – haven’t been bowling in ages. Count me (and I’m sure I can convince the others in the house to join) in for the 12th!
September 20, 2008 at 5:34 pm #639863
ZenguyParticipantI am in as well. I have my own ball and shoes…some how that did not improve my game any. I suppose practicing might have helped.
September 20, 2008 at 6:40 pm #639864
JenVMemberhahah Zenguy – me too. I still suck at bowling, but I have a cool ball. I wasn’t kidding when I said my 4 1/2 year old niece beats me on a regular basis.
So we’ve decided on a day- October 12th. What time? I am thinking 3ish. Does that work for everyone? Is there a better time for everyone?
