Winery Tasting Room Manager
Welcome Road Winery is seeking an energetic, friendly and dependable person to manage the West Seattle tasting room on a part time basis (28 to 50 hours per month / 2 to 3 weekends per month). Our new tasting room is scheduled to open in early November 2016 at California Ave & Charlestown.
You have excellent people skills, a knowledge of wine and a desire to play a key role in establishing our new tasting room in the West Seattle neighborhood. You are also honest to a fault, can lift 45 lbs. and are available to work weekends.
Experience working in a previous tasting room is strongly preferred. Experience distributing wine to retail and restaurants is a BIG plus.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Opening & closing the tasting room (we anticipate being open Thursday – Sunday)
2. Greeting guests, pouring wine, facilitating and processing sales, acquiring wine club signups
3. Managing the wine club (sending emails, preparing shipments, organizing parties, etc.)
4. Assisting with private events
5. There is an opportunity to also handle social media for the winery – experience and desire dependent
Requirements:
1. At least 2 years of hospitality experience; tasting room experience is strongly preferred
2. Wine distribution experience is a big plus
3. High school diploma, college degree preferred
4. West Seattle resident is a plus
5. Awesome references
6. Food handlers permit; Class 12 pouring permit (we can assist if you need either of these)
