It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a posting from “H”……..did I miss something? It was so informative hearing about homelessness from her perspective.

I’m not sure why it’s been so long Libra. (Is that your sign? I’m a Libra!)

I know that DBP has mentioned that there’s sometimes a lag when he can get her journal form her. Either that, or DBP has maybe been busy lately.

I noticed this the other day myself, when I was digging deeper into the Forums, looking for something else, and saw that H’s thread hadn’t been updated for a couple of weeks, or so. Seemed more recent than that!

Thanks for asking about this, Libra.

    H. and I have decided to discontinue the journal. I know I should’ve put up an announcement up about this earlier, but I didn’t get around to it. Anyway, thanks for giving me the opportunity now . . .

I think we had a good run with this thing, and I’m hoping that you all got something good out of it. I know I did, though there were many bittersweet moments for me, too. There were times when I wept for H., thinking of how hard she struggles and yet how she still, despite everything, believes people are good at heart.

    Like Anne Frank did.

Unfortunately, H.’s condition is essentially the same now as it was when I first met her, in the fall of 2011. She’s still struggling with a variety of health issues and still trying to find work and housing. Her first concern (as you know from reading the journal) continues to be keeping herself and beloved kitties safe.

As I sign off, I want to thank the many people who offered H. some kind of assistance. Please know that I passed ALL of your offers along to her, but beyond that, I cannot comment.

I hope this experience will motivate people to learn more about homelessness in our community and to get involved with the struggle to end it.

    Good karma to all.

Thank you David. I’m so sorry we won’t hear from her anymore…..her experiences touched my heart and just wish there was something I could do to help her.
