credmondParticipantHope folks are finding copies of the map. Locations are all over West Seattle – the list, to date, is at westseattlewalks.org.

Would be interested in folks comments and in places where folks would like to see the maps (for now, try a pet store, coffee shop or library, health center, neighborhood service center).

SueParticipantCharles, that website isn’t working – says the domain name is expired.

WSBKeymasterIt was a redirect from Chas’s site anyway – I happened to link the redirect target in the last update we published a week ago when he added more locations. You can get there from here:

credmondParticipantYeah, my ISP guy apparently is on vacation even though I did send in a reminder about getting the registration extended. I’ll try and get that back – in the meantime, the redirected URL is “http://homepage.mac.com/credmond/westseattlewalks/WestSeattleWalks.html” – alas – notice the caps in the last slash sequence. This website is case sensitive.

WSBKeymasterIf you click the version in my post above it will go directly there. Funny thing about this forum software is that it doesn’t require coding, it will automatically hotlink URLs and e-mail addresses. I gotta figure out where to go in the template to get rid of that stupid disclaimer about “allowed markup.”

inactiveMemberIs the website’s current list accurate? I can’t help but notice that stores within Westwood Village are completely absent? Or did I misread it?
Multiple high traffic locations there…Starbucks community bulletin board, Teriyaki shop has a poster wall, Java Juice, pet store (can’t remember the name), QFC, etc..
Also, Zippy Burgers on Holden, right next to Jo’s Jo’s Espresso. And, maybe even Tony’s Produce up on 35th & Barton? All-Star Fitness and 24-Hour Fitness lobbies.
My $.02.

credmondParticipantCouple of notes – first off, the westseattlewalks.org website URL is now working (domain registration renewal slip-up).
–
I’m working on Westwood Village. There are two criteria which allow for map distribution through venues to work:
–The clientele is walking and is interested in walking
–The venue allows a stack of material to be left in appropriate and dedicated locations
–
EATS may be the best shot in Westwood Village. Starbucks – as a community resource – is very poor. Both Westwood and Morgan locations require manager to post, no material can be left. Basically Starbucks is off the map, so to speak. Zippy’s clientele, since they’re open only in the daytime, is mostly local contractors arriving and leaving in trucks. I’ve scoped that place out a lot. However, there are maps at Jo’s Jo’s – I failed to list that along with a few other locations as I added them. Am working on updating both locations and the web on some kind of schedule. Tony’s is another good possibility, but they’re copies nearby at the SW library and at Original Bakery and Bird on a Wire.
–
I’ll work on Westwood Village. Also, if you live in or near Westwood Village or in Highland Park, all the neighborhood associations received copies – I’ll list them on the site soon.

credmondParticipantJust a quick follow-up – EATS and Pet Pros now have the maps as does Canine Casa (Endolyne area) and Full Tilt Ice Cream in White Center.

Bikefor1MemberReddy, how about seeing if 24 hour fitness in Westwood will provide them?

GreenSpacesMemberI picked one up for me and one for a neighbor at Pet Pros. Still haven’t sat down and studied it yet tho!
