JanSParticipantAs long as there are people in the US like this, we are doomed. Some wonder who votes for the really loonie politicians on either side of the aisle…here’s your answer..(one or two swear words):

Wes C. AddleParticipantYep. Pretty much.
.
What’s amazing to me is that these protests take place in states that are crumbling under GOP Governance. Yet they still back them all.

JanSParticipantI know….just look at Mr. Perry in TX…amazing…his latest is…homosexuality is like alcoholism. I suppose some of the gay community might feel a backhanded compliment there…being addictive, and all – lol.
I just shake my head….it’s very sad, indeed…

HMC RichParticipantIt takes all types doesn’t it. Terribly sad…

JoBParticipantSo Rich..
did you actually look at both links?
One uses the words of protesters to point out the hypocrisy of their ideas..
the other complains that protesting is bothersome and often leaves a mess that has to be cleaned up
??????????
you point?
September 30, 2014 at 6:18 pm #814143
Wes C. AddleParticipantHere’s one thing that’s always bothered me. I believe it’s one of the biggest factors in our ADD world right now.
.
JoB’s link show’s the extreme right wing. Rich’s shows the extreme left wing. Nearly every video you see shows the extreme’s from both party’s. It makes for good a click-thru rate, but it causes so much tension between defenders of both parties. In reality most people get along and have the sames complaints (dems vs. repubs) I know when I talk to people that have different views it’s never as far apart as theses extremes. Most of us live somewhere in the middle. Too bad that portion of society is affected by low voter turnout and stagnant wages. It sours you to the point of not giving a **** ;)
.
Guess that’s why I classify myself as a Liberal-tarian
September 30, 2014 at 6:25 pm #814144
JanSParticipantHey, Wes……..for future reference (I posted the original link)…JoB and I are not interchangeable..we aren’t the same person – lol (although some might think so on here). And , yes, JoB and I are more than acquaintances on a forum…we do know each other, and have hung out on occasion :D
September 30, 2014 at 7:42 pm #814145
Wes C. AddleParticipantoopsie. I was reading JoB’s post while typing :)
September 30, 2014 at 7:42 pm #814146
JoBParticipantWes C Addle..
sorry.. but i have to ask..
did you look at both links?
because i don’t think either shows those extremes you are talking about..
September 30, 2014 at 10:33 pm #814147
Wes C. AddleParticipantYes I looked at both. The first video that JanS posted was filled with ignorant right-wingers and their kooky theories about how Obama is running the country into the ground.
.
I guess I could clarify myself a little better on the 2nd link. The Climate change folks doing the marching is what I meant by the “extreme left” not the tone of the article by the climate change skeptics.
. Speaking of climate change and other contributing factors :(

JoBParticipantWes..
climate change isn’t a far left construct
it’s a scientific one
and as such ought to be the middle of the road position
that is if we still want to have a country…
right wing idiots complaining about the trash left by trashcans after the march and about the march disrupting traffic aren’t so extreme either.
i am guessing there was plenty of grumbling going on by those affected.
i don’t say this to argue with you … but to point out that we have become so sensitized by this notion that when either side opens their mouth that it is extremism that nobody is listening any more..
which is how you end up with otherwise reasonable people spewing the kinds of recycled sound bites that were on Jan’s link :(
October 1, 2014 at 7:53 pm #814149
Wes C. AddleParticipantI agree with you Jan, I agree :)
.
BTW, I don’t think you’re trying to argue just to argue.
.
That guy on the first link talking about Obama and his boyfriend is just ridiculous though. lol
October 17, 2014 at 8:19 am #814150
HMC RichParticipantYes, I had to chuckle, he was ridiculous. As was the hypocrisy of a giant march regarding climate change while trashing the earth they believe is affected by more CO2. Thank Goodness most people sort of range to the middle. I think.
