zephyrParticipantI need to have my Kenmore vacuum cleaner repaired. It’s been quite a workhorse for years, but today it just quit. :( Is there a vacuum repair shop in or near West Seattle that anyone could recommend? I did look at previous posts, but they seem to be from several years ago. The links go to a main page for Quality Sewing and Repair, but no particular location. I gather that AAA in White Center has closed?
Thanks.- This topic was modified 9 years ago by zephyr.

gburkeParticipantI think there’s one off of 1st or 4th ave a bit south of the bridges that take you over the train tracks…kind of near arena sports etc.

zephyrParticipantThanks for the clue gburke. Looking at a map I see that there is a Sears Parts & Repair Center at 4786 1st Avenue South, that’s just over the bridge going south on First Avenue. Looking online, it appears to be mainly a parts place for Do It Yourself repair. I will give them a call. Meanwhile, I am still open for recommendations. I am thinking the shops in White Center have moved to South Center.

metrognomeParticipantzephyr – my Kenmore did the same thing … just after I spent $100 on a new hose. There used to be a vac repair place in South Park (Quality Sewing and Vacuum, I think) but it seems to have moved. I did some sleuthing and found out the parts they probably needed were no longer available, so I never took it in. They do have locations in Tukwila and Burien; you might want to contact them to see if they service your model (Sears contracts out, so the manufacturer varies by model.) Good luck.

squareeyesParticipantI was planning to recommend AAA Sewing & Vacuum but you are right, they’ve moved to Tukwila and are part of the Quality Sewing & Vacuum group.
There’s the Vac Shop on Lucille betw 4th Ave S and 5th Ave S, although the one time I went there several years ago the proprietor was much more interested in selling one of his refurbished models rather than repair mine, which just needed a new belt.April 25, 2016 at 8:51 am #841574
HelperMonkeyParticipantyou might try Best Vacuum of Burien

zephyrParticipantThanks everyone. I took my vacuum cleaner to Best Vacuum in Burien per HelperMonkey above. For some reason we weren’t able to access the motor compartment, but the repairman was able to get it to start up again. So it’s working for now. May be time to start shopping for a new appliance.

HelperMonkeyParticipantZephyr – so happy to hear that worked out for you! Did you get to meet Ringo while you were there? :)

zephyrParticipantI am assuming you mean the little dog (Jack Terrier?). I didn’t get his name, but he was quite friendly and came out to visit while I was waiting.
