JanSParticipantHammerhead just called me to ask me to post that there are 2 Great Danes running loose @ SW 30th and SW Holden. Anyone know who might belong to these animals? Are you missing your dogs?
She was in her car, so couldn’t post herself. Great Danes are huge, so could be scary approaching a child (who should be in school – lol) or other animals. Please, if you know who owns these dogs, let the owners know that they’re out…and be careful around there.

JoBParticipantGreat Danes are gentle giants and are generally not frightening to children or other animals…
but they are also not escape artists.. so if two are out it is possible there is an owner in trouble as well.

JanSParticipantwestseattledood, I do not know if she called animal control or not. I just posted this here, since it reaches so many people :)

sam-cParticipantthey are also gentle giants that can come tearing out of their yard without warning, into the street and t-bone your passenger side door, causing lot$$ of damage. (of course, that time, the dog took off so fast, apparently not seriously injured cuuse we couldn’t find him, but it could have been another gentle giant type of a dog.) dog 1, car, 0

WSBKeymasterIf anyone gets a “dogs seen” or cats for that matter note, also PLEASE call to our attention so we can put on the pets page. I just saw this now. It doesn’t have to be a full blown “lost/found/here’s a photo/here’s a phone number” – if you look at that page, there’s a whole block of “from e-mail, whatever just spotted running down 40th …” type stuff. Meantime I’ll link this thread there.
If you’re nowhere near a computer you can also reach us by phone any time … the myriad contact methods are here:

Thanks to everybody for caring so much to try to reunite lost critters/owners :)

JoBParticipanthammerhead..
i confess, i have never met an unaltered male Dane… let alone a breeding pair.
I can’t imagine why anyone would make that choice unless they were breeders… and you would think breeders would be more careful.
I hope they made it home safely.
