RainyDay1235Member“I can walk her without a leash” – uh oh, the floodgates have opened again.
I take offense and I won’t apologize for it. I volunteer with shelter animals. I’m running a donation drive at work right now for the recent puppy mill victims. I see what happens with overpopulation. I know several people who have bred or continue to breed their dogs, and it makes me ill. Did you read about the family in FL that just paid $155K to clone their labrador. I’m sure because he had such a great personality. Do you know how many spay and neuters that would buy?? It is selfish and unecessary.
Ironically, I know of two people in the past year who purchased designer dogs and have since returned them (to where I don’t know). But I have MANY friends who have adopted shelter dogs, who are now members of the family.
SHELTER DOGS RULE!!! :)

WSBKeymasterClosing the thread. “Ignorant” is borderline rule violation but rather than prune, I will just make the judgment that this thread has run its course and gone off the road. Also a note that deriding people here for choosing this forum to seek information – on ANYTHING – is inappropriate. Same as telling people “we don’t need you here” (as has happened in other threads/news comments). This forum is here for people to discuss pretty much WHATEVER, within legal bounds, within the few rules we have set up. You never know when you might find a dog expert, or who knows what. The reason people come here as opposed to some bigger forum out there online somewhere, I like to think, is that they feel a little safer and more connected if they’re in WS and ostensibly reaching mostly people in this area (because why would you hang out here if you’re not connected to WS?). Keeping a civil atmosphere is vital to that and when I get flagged that said atmosphere has vanished in a thread, it’s time to move on to another topic. Thanks.
