Does anyone have a toddler or older at The Mount? Would you recommend switching from another daycare to The Mount? I’ve been on the waiting list forever and wonder if it’s truly worth the switch? What are the teachers like?

Since it’s a holiday weekend and responses may be slow – I’ll share that a former co-worker of mine, West Seattle resident, has had his toddler/preschooler in the program and RAVES about it. Also note they recently won an award:

    Good luck in your decisionmaking!

YES!!!! We have two kids there. Our four year old has attended the mount since he was four months old and we have a baby in the baby room, so we know almost all of the teachers and classrooms. The ILC/Mount has been a real community for us, it is the “village” that is helping us raise our children. The teachers are fantastic, almost all (if not all) have degrees in early childhood education. The toddler and pre-school classrooms use integrated lesson plans and experiential learning that is throughtfully planned out. I’m often amazed by the things my son tells me he is learning about (volcanos, wildlife, geology, and antartica have been some of his recent favorites). The teachers are really good at teaching kids problem solving skills and conflict resolution. Overall, the biggest proof for me is the confidence and positive energy that my son exudes by being in a supportive learning community.

I’m happy to answer any other specific questions you might have. Either post them here or send me a PM.
