alkisunParticipantWhen I saw the employee take the crepe out of the frig and warm it in the microwave I decided I would not order. How much touble is it to heat a crepe on a griddle??????

hopeyParticipantalkisun, I don’t know what time of day you stopped in, but I’ve been there a couple of times on the weekend in the middle of the afternoon and have never seen them use a microwave. Honestly, I’m not even sure they have one — the crepes are made on the griddles, the hot water for tea comes from the coffee machine. I don’t know what they’d need a microwave for.

It looked like a microware. Maybe it was a warming oven.

addParticipantOK, House, that reminds me of some weird show I watched, maybe it was on MTV, called the Boiling Point. They give a certain number of minutes to see if customers can contain their annoyance/rage when badly treated. If they make it, they get 100 bucks. The sweaty chest rub – that was totally the deal at the falafel shop in NYC, in addition to some other “moves”. I’ll just leave the rest to your imagination. It was too funny.

bigmarkMemberWe thought the crepes here were pretty good. Freshly made for us, so can’t comment on the microwaving. In my opinion, though, the crepes at Bubbles on Delridge are better. It’s great to have multiple crepe options in West Seattle!

WSMomParticipantI’ve enjoyed the Nutella and whipping cream crepe on four different occasions at Riverhouse. I’ve always gone on a Sunday and Kathleen the owner has always meticulously created my crepe on her imported crepe maker. Go on Sunday, I’ve not been disappointed!!

MaxParticipantI read the owner’s defensive comments, and I know alkisun, who accurately reported what she saw. I am disappointed the owner did not track down and fix the problem instead of simply asserting the problem did not exist. But, I guess a word to the wise is due: if you go, ask them to make the crepe fresh (or at least not microwave it). Sounds like they know they are supposed to.

although i wasn’t as impressed by the place a some people have been.. i got a fresh crepe. i know because i watched her make it. and it was a good crepe.
i’m just not that into crepes.
i will go back for the soup tho.. and i loved the quiet feel to the eating area.

JoBParticipantYou know it just occurred to me from reading aliksun’s post and the owner’s response…
what if what alkisun saw was sliced turkey put into the microwave to warm it?
that could sure look like a crepe…
after all, she didn’t try the crepes.. just reported what she thought she saw.
it wouldn’t be the first time an eyewitness saw one thing and thought it was another…
she decided the crepes weren’t any good based on what she thought she saw… not on actually ordering and tasting them.
I don’t know…
but i can recommend that you give the business the benefit of the doubt.
the owner did explain exactly what the microwave was for… and more than one poster on this topic has vouched for the crepes.
maybe anyone who really likes crepes should try them before deciding that they aren’t worth trying.
