Does anyone know if the 57 will still be stopping in front of SBUX corporate when they close the on ramp next week? I’m completely confused by the upcoming mess down there. Thanks much!

The route will change slightly of course. It will no longer include the stop at 1st and Spokane. Instead it will turn off of First Ave. onto Hanford and go over to E. Marginal Way and then down to the swing bridge and over to West Seattle.

Short answer, your bus will still be there. The trip home and to work might take a little longer cuz you will be going over a bridge that swings open and your bus will have to cross railroad tracks.

Thanks to our ever expanding world and our need for cars.

boy, living in WS and working at home sure does sound like the right decision right now, huh…glad my commute is from my bedroom to my bathroom, to my kitchen, to my living room – lol…

I guess a bus trip down to EcoHaus on 1st Ave. is now out of the question…

This is less of a big deal than people are making it. Its a year and a half, we will get used to it.

One solution people might consider to get from SODO TO West Seattle is to take a bus northbound to downtown and catch a route that gets on the viaduct for more predictable travel times:

    – 54/55 to W Seattle or a 120 to White Center on Columbia at Second or

    – 37 weekdays pm peak at Second/Marion to Alki & Alaska Junction or

    – 56 Express weekdays pm peak at First/Marion to Admiral

Note: do not try this if a Mariners game is scheduled to start any time soon. On weekdays, you can use the elevators in the Exchange Building to beat the hill between First & Second.
