“Pretty much what is prescribed in Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.”

Another tell that we’re getting the fox news talking points. Alinsky. Next up, Bill Ayers.

“(This is a good book for any of you hard-liners on here who love the idea of living in old soviet society)”

Please point out anyone here who has expressed any love for living in soviet society.

“Article V was used by state legislatures to incentivize Congress to do the right things–a couple times in recent decades to coming within one or two states of calling a convention.”

Any links to prove that assertion? I don’t recall any time in the last 100 years that we’ve been anywhere near calling a convention, let alone within a state or two. When was that exactly?

    Captain Dave

what part of President Obama is a Constitutional Scholar do you not understand?

oh.. i get it.. it’s that part about being literal that you don’t get.

that literal thing.. those are facts…

not some asshat’s opinion filtered through another asshat’s opinion filtered through “i don’t know much about the Constitution.. but “

as it turns out.. all opinions are not equal.. those based on facts are actually more reliable than those based on belief..

Believing something does not make it true

Bottom line- To answer the initial question,I feel confident that no state or group of states are going to invoke Article V during the final 2 years of Obama’s presidency and, no, I don’t think they should. The POTUS is not acting beyond or above the law in his executive orders and all branches of gov’t still have all the powers granted them by the Constitution with which to act if they think he is. Therefore, not lawless.

BTW, here’s the text of Article V which the OP characterizes as a way for states to take control over the federal gov’t–

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate.

It’s the process by which to amend the Constitution. Pop quiz, what was the last amendment added to the Constitution?

In the interest of FAIR AND BALANCED links, here are ten quotes, some for, some against, some wait and see opinions.
