mrcray21MemberI’m looking to rent 1-2 days at a commercial kitchen located in West Seattle. Any ideas or leads? I’ve checked out Cookspace and there was a listing on Craigslist that no longer seems to exist…

DBurnsParticipantWhat type of equipment specifically will you need? What time of day/days of week are you most interested in? Is this a long term need or just for 1-2 days total?
I own a small restaurant and can share my kitchen, but obviously there are some limitations!

mrcray21MemberI am launching a fresh baby food delivery business. There is flexibility but ideally I am interested in Mondays, possibly Thursdays. Long term.
Can you give any guidance on insurance? I am working with a WS broker currently but I am a newbie at food business insurance.

DBurnsParticipantGreat idea! I would love to help if I can. Insurance is a big topic for any delivery service. I would recommend starting with your own insurance agent, and see what info that will get you. As far as insuring your product? I would guess that if you are preparing it in a commercial location that is covered by insurance, you should be fine. The Health Department would be another great resource for you and I have always found them to be super helpful. I would also just assume that if you are preparing food in a kitchen that is Health Department inspected and approved, that would be all you would need – but I could be wrong. Be sure that you know the records of the commercial kitchen you use, if this is the case.
Feel free to contact me with any specific questions – I’ve been there and it can help to talk or bounce ideas around!

Mike D.ParticipantI believe there is a shared commercial kitchen on the SE corner of Delridge Way and SW Findlay, across the street from Olympia Pizza.
