I’m doing some retirement planning. Is anyone willing to give me some idea what insurance costs are for a couple before they turn 65? And after being enrolled in Medicare?

Currently we have insurance through our employers.

What kind of insurance are you looking for? Life? Medical? Property – fire, theft, etc.? Car?

Good question, health insurance. What I’m seeing is around $2000/month to cover my wife and I. Does that sound right?

Beside the $137ish that comes out of your SS every month, I pay $47 a month to Regence BlueAdvantage HMO which includes preventive dental. I pay $20 primary care appointment, $45 for specialist office visit and they do bill for that I don’t have to pay at the time of service. I have been seeing PC at UW Physicians for years and was able to continue with them as they are in network, so is Harborview and many more. Fyi I had to go to emergency room for a possible heart issue, they ran many tests, kept me overnight etc. The total bill was around $12,000 after insurance adjustments and insurance payments, I was billed around $230.00. Am very satisfied with customer as well.
