pupsarebestParticipantAnyone else notice the absolute clusterf**k that is now the cell-phone waiting lot at the airport? Never had any problem in all the years at the original site—now, gridlock is the rule, not the exception. Do you suppose anyone in a position of authority and accountibilty is aware of, and trying to address, this ridiculous situation? January 6, 2015 at 1:22 pm #820468
SueParticipantI haven’t been to the new one yet because I heard stories just like what you’re talking about. Fortunately, we are close enough to the airport that I tell people to call when they land, and that’s when I head out the door. Avoids having to wait in that lot since by the time I’m there, they’re at the curb as a rule. January 6, 2015 at 2:30 pm #820469
angelescrestParticipantNever, ever again! What a horrendous experience trying to get out of that new lot, where three areas converge into one exit. Took me a half hour!! Surely they’re aware!?! January 6, 2015 at 3:06 pm #820470
JoBParticipantthey are aware of the traffic jam it causes at the airport. when we arrived late saturday night they had to stop traffic frequently to let the cars parked at the curb picking up passengers clear before they would let it proceed.. it took our housesitter nearly 40 minutes to move from the lot to pick us up. SmittyParticipantAgree with Sue. Unless it is rush hour, we just leave when they land and it works out perfectly. We also pick up on the departure level, which makes things smoother too, especially in the evening (don’t tell anyone!). January 6, 2015 at 9:07 pm #820472
celeste17ParticipantWhat I do is drive most of the way there and pull into one of the business lots across the street and wait for them to tell me that they have their lugage and are ready for a pick up. Less fuss. January 6, 2015 at 10:20 pm #820473
pupsarebestParticipantSome good solutions, but it’s galling and ridiculous that a simple undertaking such as a cell-phone waiting lot, the ostensible point of which is convenience, has become a poorly thought-out nightmare for those who wish to use it. January 7, 2015 at 5:14 am #820474
KBearParticipantI find the $3-$4 parking fee less onerous than the ridiculous cell phone lot setup. Maybe that’s what they were counting on. January 7, 2015 at 3:59 pm #820475
hammerheadParticipantOMG I did not even know it had moved, so once I figured that out, even at 8pm it was a cluster F**K. Thank god I was not picking up a human. I went the long route home. That was horrible. January 9, 2015 at 6:45 am #820476
pupsarebestParticipantI have notified our local TV news affilliates regarding the situation, and urged them to look into and report on this untenable fiasco. I urge anybody who has experienced the frustrating time/fuel wasting inconvenience at this ill-conceived lot to weigh in with KOMO, KIRO & KING (or other media outlets) and urge them to look into this. We cannot do anything about Bertha, but surely this example of ill-conceived absurdity can be rectiified…right?
