Schmitz Park Wild Plant Theft

Someone is stealing wild Trillium flowers from Schmitz Park, digging them up by the roots. These plants are increasingly rare, and once they are taken, they are gone. PLEASE help us keep wild native plants for future generations to enjoy. Do NOT buy these plants at a plant sale unless it is from a reputable dealer. Thanks for posting this. I see this happening everywhere in wild areas these days. It’s a lot like the exotic bird trade. People who dig up rare, wild plants (or purchase wild caught birds) are SCUMBAGS.

I have Trilliums in my yard, and yes sadly once you did them up they all die.

Can’t wait for mine to come up.
