Has anyone found a successful way to keep rodents from chewing on engine wires? And nesting in there? Ugh!

Service station recommended a clump of dryer sheets tied under the hood. Internet suggested moth balls. Rodents and squirrels don’t like the odor. I don’t recommend moth balls as the odor may come inside the vehicle and it’s not o.k. for people to continually smell moth balls.

Peppermint oil (in the spice dept at the grocery store) on cotton balls. Just tuck some in a few places around the engine.
