Many fond memories watching the show The Monkees as a kid.

My mom listened to them a lot when I was a rugrat.

My oldest daughter had a mad crush on Davie, named her hamster after him. As a mom, I always liked them. Hard to imagine him as an older grey-haired man. My kids(4) are gettimg there too.

Alas, my once cherished childhood dream of being Mrs. Davy Jones is finally over. Rest in peace Davy.

“I’m a Believer” was always my favorite Monkees’ song. Thank you, Davy. Well done.

I often cringe at the memory of my decades-late teenage obsession with The Monkees when they experienced a sort of resurgence in the late 90’s when Nick at Nite aired their re-runs. My mom sewed their logo on my jeans when I was in 6th grade and I thought I was so awesome… if only we weren’t nearing the year 2000. But! I did get to see them at the Puyallup Fair (minus Nesmith) when I was around that age. Davy was unarguably my favorite. Enjoying all the Facebook posts on my feed today with tributes and videos of him.

I remember CCD class at Guadalupe was on Monday night and since it interfered with my Monkee watching, I just skipped it. I, sad but true, went to concerts in 1967 and 68, and 70. Selling the concert books on ebay helped pay for tuition for my kids. I was glad I saved them. I may still have a few Tiger Beats hanging around…
