happywalkerParticipantA few months ago there was an accident involving an illegally/permanently parked very large RV on the corner of 13th & Henderson. Well since then, of course the damaged RV is gone, but the raggedy a** old, unsightly gaggle of at least 6 cars and trucks are still illegally parked on Henderson and 13th. It really makes the area look shabby and trashy. How is he getting away with it? City officials certainly know about the situation as per the accident and all of the reports that have been filed regarding the illegal situation. What else can be done? Any ideas? Let’s take some pride in our neighborhood.

AJPParticipantYes, it annoys the heck out of me too. I bet the RV will be back as soon as it’s repaired. I’m not sure what the laws are, other than the 72 hour law. So the best we can do is call them in every three days.

waikikigirl.3ParticipantI know how frustrating this is for neighbors that live in eyes view of these vehicles and I guess all you can do is like what AJP says “call every 72 hours” I think they may be a limit on how many “broke-down vehicles” you can have parked on your property too???
Our gripe in our neighborhood is people who buy a house then do absolutely no yard work, if they don’t like doing yard work then why didn’t they buy a Condo?! :/(June 13, 2017 at 4:42 pm #885907
happywalkerParticipantThere are at least 8 “junk” cars parked on Henderson and 13th…so it’s NOT on their property. I call and report but to no avail. Can’t understand why the City doesn’t just tow them.

waikiki girl..3ParticipantHappywalker, I wasn’t siding with the neighbor with all the vehicles, I’m unfamiliar with the neighborhood I was just stating “IF” they were on his/her property they may be able to have them parked there and YES it is unsightly and again as AJP stated all you can do is call every 72 hours to report them and why the City does nothing is a mystery.
