wakefloodParticipantAnyone else not particularly enthusiastic about the now common use of Regional Jets versus the more comfortable 737’s, A320’s, etc.? They’re stupid tiny inside, the seats are even smaller and the overhead storage is basically big enough for a laptop bag.
And I’ve had them on flights up and into 2hrs. and change. Seriously, we weren’t getting abused enough before??? I hope they don’t turn all short hop flights into these tuna cans…

Infrequent CommenterMemberwakeflood,
The only one I’ve been on is the Alaska / Horizon routes that use the Bombardier Q 400 turboprop. I like them, but I’m not a particularly tall person. Two seats per row, usually boarding from the front and rear (faster), plus I like being on a plane with fewer people. Kind of a bumpy / loud ride but Horizon’s free beer and wine make up for it!
Horizon also makes up for the tiny overhead storage by providing a cart to stash bags right before you get on the plane (which is out on the jetway).
I’m sure you know about SeatGuru. Just put in your airline and flight number and it shows the type of aircraft, along with reviews on which seats are ‘good’ or ‘bad’ (legroom, etc.)

wakefloodParticipantYeah, IC, I was referring specifically to the small jets, not the turboprops, which are generally preferable – save the noise factor.

skeeterParticipantI won’t have to worry about these things much longer. Gulfstream just called and I’m next in line for a G650. Seems like I’ve been waiting forever. Gonna live it up with my fellow 1 percenters!

wakefloodParticipantSkeets, I hope you didn’t go with the base interior. I mean really, the color palette options were so limiting – what, like 10 or something??
And don’t get me started on the nickel plated fixtures. As if.

wakefloodParticipantSo, is there a seat available for your ol’ buddy Wake???
October 9, 2014 at 5:26 pm #814606
skeeterParticipantSure thing Wake. There’s one open seat next to Britney Spears and another open seat next to Paris Hilton. The two aren’t talking these days but never turn down a ride to Vegas for the weekend.

wakefloodParticipantMan, there a bunch of ways I could go with that…
…and virtually all of them would get me kicked off the blog. ;-)

lazybeardParticipantI must be an aviation geek but I love flying in smaller commercial aircraft, including CJRs. I also love seeing aircraft in the sky at low altitude.
Horizon used to fly a new route as a way to test the waters to see if it could support Alaska, I recall they did this with the Long Beach route as I was on one of the first departures back in the 00’s and then a year or two later it became an Alaska route.
