RebeccaMemberWe got a notice from the city that our backflow assemblies are due for annual testing. I’d appreciate suggestions for local testers (who won’t rip us off). Thanks!

mark47nParticipantWhat sort of business are you?

RebeccaMemberWhoops, meant to mention that it’s for a privately owned home (townhouse).

pennidoggParticipantI highly recommend Dennis McLaughlin, (206) 364-9531. He has been testing our backflow assembly for over 10 years. He is very knowledgeable and even repaired our assembly when it failed it’s test a few years back. His rate is very reasonable, he files the paperwork and you can trust it has been done right.

CMParticipantIf you don’t mind me asking, what system(s) do you have in your homes that require a backflow preventer?

pennidoggParticipantCM – We have a vacuum breaker value on our in-ground sprinkler system which requires testing each year to make sure that it is doing it’s job of keeping the water that sits within the sprinkler system from backflowing into the city water line. The vacuum breaker value is a very important safety measure and having it tested is a requirement of the city. As a homeowner having it tested gives peice of mind and proof that this important piece of equipment is doing it’s job.

RebeccaMemberThanks, pennidogg! I got his last appointment for the month.
I don’t have the city’s letter on me, but it seems like this test might have something to do with the fire sprinklers in our townhouse.
