charlabobParticipantThis could turn into a rant if I wanted to mention names — but I don’t so, can anyone recommend a dry cleaner who doesn’t (1) decide not to do the job and fail to let you know (s)he isn’t going to do it (leather), (2) snarl about cleaning quilts that have cat hair on them, or (3) lose your clothes because they can’t read their own writing on the receipt. NB, I picked the leather cleaner because they advertised “leather cleaning” — I knew I was in trouble when they wanted to wash a nonwashable blue suede coat. So far I’ve continued to go to #3 because (s)he wasn’t crabby about it and let me wander around the racks to find my clothes. But I really would like a little more from my cleaner than civility — like clean clothes with no mysterious new spots????
Seriously, I laugh to keep from crying. HELP!

beachdrivegirlParticipantI forget the name of the cleaner we go to. but is on admiral. it is on the north side of the street, just east of California. It is to right of the Wells Fargo if you are facing the cleaner. They have done a really great job wiht all of our clothes, laundry (when the washer was down), down blankets, and always remember. Hopefully this isnt the cleaner that you had the bad experience with.

EmmyJaneParticipantYou must go to West Seattle Cleaners on Fauntleroy. In the 4 years I’ve been going there, I have never had a single complaint or even slight annoyance. I bring in sweaters covered in dog fur and they never say a word about it. Shirts are turned around fast, nothing has ever been ruined, lost, etc.
And let me tell ya, we need a good cleaner because I don’t think there’s a day that goes by that my fiance doesn’t spill something on his shirt…
Highest recommendation!

TammiWSMemberI use the cleaners next door to the Morgan Junction park. I’ve never had issues with them. I have only taken in slacks and sweaters so cant comment on higher end clothing but they’ve been great and always friendly.

AlkiRagdollParticipantQuality Cleaners on the south west corner of Admiral Way and California – next to Circa. Been using them for 15 years — never lost anything, ALWAYS get spots out that I call attention, never damaged anything, never added spots, AND they call me by my name (its amazing they remember it). The other place in post #1 would not take my check when I first moved here — Quality Cleaners did the next week, and since they trusted me, get the job done with a smile, and with quality, I have always gone back.
When I moved here from the east coast, I was used to weekly dry cleaning for my dress shirts and suits… but gladly, I dont have to dress that formally here, so now I only go every couple of months. I dont know these ladies names but they have both worked there the entire time and are the best.

charlabobParticipantThanks!!! I was a just a little worried I’d come back and only find recommendations to the places I wrote about. You all recommended new (to me) places so, once again, I harbor hope!

cMemberthe one on admiral on the north side is Debonair cleaners.
they do a great job and only charge 98 cents to wash and iron a dress shirt. My husband takes his shirts there and is always happy.
they’ve done a good job on drycleaning as well.
