Anyone want to help start some pressure on the police to reduce the crazy drag racing that goes on most nights tease days on Harbor Avenue just along from Seacrest Park? Wheel spins, racing at 60 MPH+ down the street. Someone is going to get killed one day.
The challenge is that there are so many raceways. Marine View Drive, West Marginal Way, 99, and so many other roads are. How are the police to patrol them all? It seems to me that these races call for traffic cameras that record license plate numbers. Or alert the police. But because we keep thinking that lower taxes are a good thing, we don’t have enough police to do the jobs that we want them to do.
speed bumps…some day they will be on all streets :(. I’m sorry…and as the weather gets warmer they will be out in swarms…and the cars are LOUD. I live about 1/2 block from Admiral Way, and on warm nights can hear them speeding up and down Admiral near Calif. Ave., and even down my street (20 mph zone). Summer is always loads of traffic fun…
yes the noise is crazy, it is like living on a drag strip some nights. May be I’ll just take some video and send to the police/ name and shame on YouTube. I get the police cant be everywhere but the fact that it is most weekend nights it cant be too hard to send a cop every now and then.
