The Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the financial records of the Seattle Chinese Garden. Position requires from 6 to 8 hours a week with some additional hours throughout the year.
Duties:
Perform general banking – posting deposits and credit card processing.
Complete monthly reconciliation for all bank accounts.
Maintain vendor and donor files in QuickBooks
Enter bills and issue checks.
Maintain the general ledger accounts.
Maintain accurate information received through the Intuit POS system in the Visitor Center.
Prepare weekly/monthly financial reports for Finance Committee & the Board.
Oversee internal system of handling funds.
Assist with preparation for annual audits or reviews with support from the Board and the Treasurer.
Qualifications:
Bookkeeping experience – non-profit preferable.
College degree or equivalent experience.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Must have experience and skills in the use of software programs such as QuickBooks, MS Office, and the ability to generate reports in Excel.
Hourly rate – $20-$25 DOE
