Thank you Jan!!!
One item worth noting; during the summer a vast majority of the FIRST STUDENT school buses that transport our Seattle City Schools students were outfitted with exterior cameras to catch those who do run their ‘reds’ and ‘stop paddles’.
6 cameras are activated when the ‘reds’ are engaged by the driver that will photograph any vehicle that passes along the drivers side of the bus, the cameras are designed to take snap-shots of both the front and rear of the vehicle(s) as it passes, so there’s no way to get away with it.
A couple minutes of patience can save you a whole lot of $, and/or some families a whole lot of grief!!
Please be patient, we drivers don’t want to hold-up traffic any longer than we need to, however our priority must, and always will be the safe movement of our the ‘little darlings’ off/on our bus ALL THE WAY to/from the sidewalk and/or away from the dangers of traffic, or until they are ALL completely seated in our “big yellow limo’s”.
The first few days of school will likely result in longer-than-normal stops as parents and drivers workout details. Again, we’re aware of the bind we’re putting on traffic but its a necessity to towards a safe and uneventful school-year of transporting other people’s children.
Something that I sincerely love doing and take very seriously!
