Anyone know what or who the police were searching for last night around 10pm? Police 2 – 3 police cars on 35th & 102nd, police were shining flashlights on and around each house on the block.

Still don’t know. The overnight commander wasn’t on last night so my question when someone e-mailed me about it has gone unanswered. There was no scanner chatter about it. Just left voicemail with the media office at SPD. Also to let them know that tweets by beat and the crime map, which would usually have at least given us a “type of incident,” are not working. Will likely publish a front-page update whenever we get the info and find out what it was … TR

luckymom, it kinda freaked me out, too. They were in the alley behind my house, shining flashlights everywhere. Police acted as if it were something serious. About 11 pm I heard 5 gunshots from a nearby area NE of the location you mentioned. Made for a restless night, not knowing if some dangerous fugitive was hiding in the backyard!

We heard gunshots too and screaming, my husband went out to make sure the cars were locked and saw all the police activity and flashlights. The police were walking along and behind each house on the west side of 35th and shining the flashlights one every house on our block.

They checked in the backyards on the east side, but our gate was locked and they did not ask us to unlock it.

Police told me they have no written report on this so apparently no evidence of a crime was found. Tweets by Beat has finally been restored and the call was “suspicious person” –

I heard the gunshots, thought it was Fireworks. Yikes.
