    Launch – formerly known as Community Day School Association (CDSA) has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Preschool Teacher in West Seattle at our Highland Park Elementary location.
    Five days per week (M-F), 2 pm- 6 pm.
    Compensation:
    • Salary $13-$16 per hour
    • Excellent benefits including paid holidays and PLT
    • Signing bonus of $50 upon receipt of cleared background check and an additional $200 after 90 days of employment

    Launch is dedicated to ensuring a brilliant start for all children. Through our preschool, before and after school and summer programs, we provide equitable access to the highest-quality learning and care in a safe, enriching environment that prepares children for success in school and life. Our programs serve a diverse group of over 1,350 children ages 3-12 in 10 Seattle locations.

    All of our preschool programs are part of the Seattle Preschool Program and have been awarded a Quality Level of Excellence rating by Early Achievers, Washington State’s quality rating and improvement system for early learning programs. Our highly skilled and well trained teams of teachers, many of whom are bilingual, help children succeed in school and in life. Our whole-child approach is tailored to individual needs and strengths, including the services and support that young learners need to blossom.

    Qualified candidates should have the following:
    • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
    • A minimum of one year experience working with preschool children (3-5 year olds) with demonstrated knowledge and competence in:
    o Behavior management skills
    o Activity planning/coordinating
    o Ability to create versatile and varied age appropriate activities for children of different ages and developmental stages
    Preference for the following

    A current Child Development Associate certification (CDA); or
    At least 45 college quarter credit hours in Early Childhood Development; or
    AA in Early Childhood Education preferred
    Must provide proof of a negative TB test administered within one year previous from hire date.
    Current First Aid and CPR certifications
    BBP / HIV / Aids certification
    Evidence of completion of a minimum of 30 hours of Basic STARS training as well as completion of the annual 10 hours of STARS training requirements.
    Commitment to continued professional development including trainings as required by various regulatory agencies.
    Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information appropriately
    Proven ability to communicate with children and adults in a positive and proactive manner.
    A demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.

    Desired but not required:

    Experience working in a non-profit organization
    BA / MA degree in Early Childhood Education
