beachdrivegirlParticipantWe now own a business and are self employed but in another state. If we moved back we would continue our business in Seattle. We currently have private insurance because our business isn’t large enough to qualify for group insurance. Would anybody mind sharing what you pay for private insurance? Who is it with? And does it include maternity? We are a family of three. Thanks!

herongrrrlParticipantI pay $322/month (about to go up to $380-something) for a Group Health plan with a $2500 deductible. It covers myself and two children, but does not cover maternity. I had private individual insurance for my last birth and found that, for maternity coverage, you can expect to pay $50-100 more per month. As you probably know, you can always lower your monthly premiums by opting for a higher deductible.

dbseaMemberI don’t have private insurance, but if I had to I’d look at Qliance. They seemed a promising model a year or 2 back. Not quite your question but thought I’d suggest it.

oddrealityParticipantI pay about $280 a month for practically nothin’ from Regence. Husband gets medicare and I have to buy my own.Price depends on many factors. Go to E-insurance and run some numbers . It gives you an idea any way.
I do get one physical a year paid for by Regence as mine is catastrophic only. Has a cap of $5,000 out of pocket a year no matter what happens. If I were 59 instead of 60 it would cost $239 a month. :( Seems high to me for what I am getting but I never have gone to the doctors more than once a year any way.

ghar72ParticipantHere’s the link to the E-insurance site oddreality mentioned: https://www.ehealthinsurance.com/
I’m with Group Health and their rates are going up in July. Starting the search again b/c my rates will be going up by $65 ($30 of that b/c I’m jumping age brackets). The little I’ve looked at the above site, it’s been really helpful. Nice to see everything all in one place. You could also talk with an insurance broker. I feel like there were a couple recommended on here awhile back. My sister has one on Bainbridge. Let me know if you want the name and I’ll get it for you.
