    Hi-

I’m a Stay at Home Mom who’s looking to meet other SAHM’s who are over 40. My little guy just turned 1, and I’d love to connect for play dates, coffee, lunch with other gals my age.

    Thanks!

Check out meetup.com. Put in your zip code and there are groups for everything. I know that there is a moms group called “80’s Ladies with Babies” for women over 35 here in Seattle. http://www.meetup.com/80s-ladies/

I’m an older SAHM — daughter just turned 7 and I’m 47 — I don’t have a toddler anymore — but when I did, I used to meet lots of other SAHM’s (and plenty of older ones here in West Seattle btw) at the community centers during open play time — my favorites were Delrigde and High Point Community Centers for play time — maybe you’ve already been to those and haven’t had any luck meeting older Moms? If not I would definately try them out. Hiawatha and Alki have Community Centers and probably also have play time for little ones who aren’t in school yet. Hopefully you’ll have some luck on this forum too. I really think my friendships with other Moms saved my sanity — after I was so used to working, then had my daughter later in life, and decided to stay at home — it was really a shock to my system, even though I totally felt fortunate to be able to stay home, it was challenging to adjust to the inherent isolation (and constant companionship of a little one). Also, I joined up wtih others at Gymboree, Mom and tot swimming lessons, other activities at the YMCA, and Kindermusic — and met lots of SAHMs at those places too. Many folks I know joined PEPS to get support and MOPS is also a good organization.
