dhg…. sometime you amaze….not wonderment at your analysis and insights…, IF you watched the FOX special, there was a review of all the mutliple components of oil prices….. including the margin requirements set the the CExB and the size of the holding positions. Exhaustively the dimensions of the board trades were covered. You would also have learned the nature of how oil is refined, each refinery is optimized for its primary source… the more varied the source the more expensive it is to refine. The more reliable single source oil is the less the cost. You would have also found out that there are currently 50 variants of refining, caused by state and local formulations… of course you won’t see that on MSNBC… they know their audience. It would take more than 30 seconds to watch, and doesn’t fit on a bumper sticker. You have no idea what affects oil prices..and can’t discern what is liberal claptrap and what is news. FOX did a full hour review of what and how oil prices are affected…. two days later Obama called for increasing the margin reserves… so he must have been watching too. Too bad he didn’t take the other seven suggestions… but that would have required some intellectual candor. We don’t expect that anymore. You watch Rachel for economic analysis? ah ha… that explains so much.

A little unbalanced Spring Chicken… you asked what I meant, I explained propaganda is the truth of the megaphone. He was indeed the master propogandist of the 20th century…. you are advised to read him.. as a cautionary tale… not as a how to manual.

Second, I never listen to Limbaugh… he’s not interesting. What assumptions we make in ignorance of fact. What;s the expression? A free press is great…. if you own the press. The bias of the media has been apparent, although, they are getting on the bandwagon lately of public disgust with this horrid management of our government and economy. The lovefest with this administration is over, Doggeral speak does not amplify or add to your message.

it’s pretty difficult not to occassionally listen to someone on the right if you go out in public at all…

i got a steady diet of FOX news with both my breakfast and cocktail hour the entire week i was in New Orleans.

it was the only downside to my vacation.

And…

unlike most of the people here who post their google sourced links to make a point..

i actually listen to or watch or read them.

it’s amazing what the people who post them miss in their own links… not to mention the links in their links

Amy Goodman isn’t what i would call light entertainment..

if you don’t invest a little time in her you won’t get the point.

Was there really a FOX news special that made an effort to deliver unbiased news?

I ask because they won the right in court to present only one side of the argument and to come to unsupported conclusions based on the evidence they provided.. even if they had more evidence to the contrary.

I can’t imagine them not taking advantage of that..

Here’s a query…. left, right, center, … first we had traffic light cameras… that was ok with some… even if the driver couldn’t be identified…. some though “gosh” this is so Orwellian… we accepted physical pat downs from TSA., walking through irradiating sensors, .. now… your SPD has a military dragon fly with the compete sensor array, hi res cameras, infrared detections… when are you going to get a tad alarmed that we are crossing the lines of absolute state control? SPD promises they won’t use it…for just for fun .. That’s your almighty liberal, green tree, bicycle pumping mayor… now.. where did they get the money? And I am being asked to approve a library initiative because we are broke… and attend pancake breakfast to rent porta potties… while our SPD is upping the ante of civil rights violations…. with hundreds of thousands of dollars of military gear. See the conflict here? If we have this kind of money, surely we don’t need additional revenue. Anyone a tad concerned we cross this line? Did we need this? why not a water line to N’ville? Well, now when we chided for our fears of “black helicopters”… we got em! See Spring Chicken… facism is incremental sometimes. Bow and submit citizenry…

Yes JoB they did… they even pilloried the allowance of holding more than 30% of the oil futures… for speculation, Then they presented the “legitimate: use of oil futures for airlines, trucking companies etc… to minimize wild price fluctuations. It was “fair and balanced”…. and yes… they called for more domestic drilling and natural gas supply… using all the tools to bring down energy costs.

Like I said.. Obama watched it.. of course he only took the side of regulating margin requirements and looked for a tax increase for each put or call. … but we would expect that. He didn;t get the big picture. I mean, why would he? His only success has been Predator drone strikes in the middle east… he isn;t going to give up that for energy security… he’s got nuthin’ else.

Pat downs and body scanners? Janet Napolitano. Like internment camps, we do crazy ass things, but we are beyond that phase of hysteria… we can course correct. We didn’t have to extend the Bush Patriot Act again, by both parties and this president until it is a permanent thread in our fabric…. and of course it will be.. cause the democrates want TSA to be able to unionize…. they will last forever if that happens. That red light thingie was and is a revenue thing,…. found by the more “progressive” cites to be unconstitutional as hell… and removed by referendum….by others, This crazy idea that inanimate objects can’t commit infractions… only drivers can and they have to be identified by a peace officer.That was a City Council thing…. law enforcement by private companies in Texas somewhere… getting half the take. And… with no sworn powers to issue a summons I might add. You may feel smug… but slowly you are being conditioned…. I will take an occasional redlight runner … btw.. to make it more revenue genertaing the city reduced the yellow light time to catch more. …. see how that works? I got nabbed…. but they want you to sign an affadavit…inferring they can get the picture that shows you were driving and you will be guilty of perjury …which you are not compelled to do ….a total corruption of our rights….. fifth amendment and all that… they have to prove it was you behind the wheel, not you having to prove it wasn’t you.

Having had Lyme Disease induced Bell’s Palsy myself 18 year’s ago I don’t recall a slowed speech delivery as a side-effect of the disease. I think that Ms. Goodman speaking cadence is measured & deliberate. It’s her “style.”

i have been watching Amy Goodman for a long time

and although her style has always been deliberate

there is a definite difference in her delivery post bells palsy…

but she is well worth listening to..

if you didn’t hear anything to make you take note in the clip you impatiently sat through part of..

perhaps you should try another..

but during breakfast i exchanged words with more than one democrat who found fox news an irritating addition to our meal.

Kootch all your learnin me on the foxdoc missed the point. They were busily hammering home the point that the pres cant possibly affect the price of oil. But that was 4 years ago when Bush was in office. Now they sing a different song. So now they are in possession of the facts that escaped them 4 yrs ago? Is that what you’re thinking? You think perhaps fox news was just a tad ignorant 4 yrs ago? Or did they deliberately ignore anything that doesn’t fit their repub dream?

One thing I find pretty funny is how short sighted the news is and especially this documentary. I would like to point out that during the Occupy movement there were a lot of tactics being used here to distract from the real movement or cause. A lot of those clips where they showed people being violent and chaotic. Those were people of Black Bloc not OWS. This to me already sends off red flags as a bias source who is trying to use these images for their own propaganda in silencing the truth.
